Switch to the last tab (communications) and select 'do nothing', and press OK. In your taskbar, right click on the speaker icon (the lighter of the two, not the realtek one if it's there), and click on sounds. In each Microphone Tab (if i recall correctly, there should be a microphone, a front-port microphone, and a stereo HD manager or something), ensure none are muted. Click it.Ī single option should be displayed - to consolidate similar devices or to split them. On the the top right, there is an option for Advanced Settings.

Open Realtek HD Audio Manager (ensure the driver for this is up to date first) If it isn't accurate, let me know and I'll verify when I get on my personal computer again. I'm at work, so most of this is from memory.

Here's how I eventually solved my problem. The issue seems to affect those who have:Ī 'passive' headset. 'After months of troubleshooting and 'workarounds' (skype version 6.9.109.106, for one), I've solved my issue. This fixed the issue for me, and I recommend it: I'm reposting this from elsewhere, sorry if this has been posted in the thread already.
